Dr. Tiffini Andorful announces campaign to run for the District 1 seat of the Prince George’s County School Board of Education. Tiffini recently began a new role as the Vice President of Partnerships & Enrollment role at the Relay Graduate School of Education in October 2023. She completed the Georgetown CPNL Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate Program in 2020.

Daniel Rico appointed to DC Interagency Council on Homelessness
Daniel Rico has joined the District of Columbia’s Interagency Council on Homelessness, whose mission is to facilitate interagency, cabinet-level leadership in planning, policymaking, program development, provider monitoring, and budgeting for the Continuum of Care of homeless services. He completed the Leadership Greater Washington Rising Leaders program in 2022 and the Access Coaching Collective Executive Coaching program in 2023.

Kenneth Parker Steps into New Role at UDC
Kenneth Parker joined the University of the District of Columbia Community College team as the Director of Dual Enrollment Programs. Kenneth spent time as the Executive Director of Literacy Volunteers and Advocates and as the Program Director at Reach for College. Kenneth completed Georgetown CPNL’s Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate program in 2016 and the Positive Intelligence program in 2021.

Kamren Rollins Interviewed for National Black Child Development Conference
In October, Kamren Rollins, Chief Operating Officer of Southeast Children's Fund, was interviewed by Early Learning Nation at the National Black Child Development Institute's 2023 Annual Conference. As the newly appointed President of Black Child Development Institute's Washington DC Metro affiliate, Kamren will lead efforts to improve and advance the quality of life for Black children and families through education and advocacy. Kamren completed the Leadership Greater Washington Rising Leaders program in 2022, Access Coaching Collective Executive Coaching program in 2023, and Inspire Leadership School's Public Narrative program in 2023.

Yasmine Arrington Recognized Nationally as one of CNN Heroes’ Top 10
Yasmine Arrington, Founder and Executive Director of ScholarCHIPS, is in the national spotlight as a top 10 finalist for CNN Hero of the Year. ScholarCHIPS provides funding and a support network to make college accessible for students with incarcerated parents. The 2023 CNN Hero of the Year episode aired live on December 10, 2023.

Spur Local Honors Patrice Sulton with a Changemaker Award
LeaderBridge partner Spur Local has selected Patrice Sulton, Founder and Executive Director of DC Justice Lab, as a 2023 Changemaker. Every year, Spur Local recognizes three individuals and organizations working to make a difference in the Greater Washington region, and celebrates their commitment, passion, and focus on relationships at an annual Community Changemakers event. Patrice is an attorney, professor, and criminal justice reform advocate who founded DC Justice Lab to advance community-rooted public safety reforms. Patrice participated in the LeaderBridge Positive Intelligence cohort in 2022. Congratulations on this award, Patrice!

Rebecca Lemos-Otero, Executive Director of HumanitiesDC, was recently elected to the Philanthropy DMV Board of Directors. Formerly known as the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers, Philanthropy DMV is a nonprofit membership association comprised of over 100 of the Greater Washington region’s leading foundations and corporate giving programs dedicated to improving the health and vitality of the region and all who live here. Pablo de Oliveira Awarded Two National Arts Fellowships
Pablo de Oliveira, Executive Director of EducArte, recently received the 2023-24 Western States Arts Federation (WESTAF) National Leaders of Color Fellowship and the 2024 National Association of Latino Arts and Culture (NALAC) Advocacy Leadership Institute Fellowship. The WESTAF National Leaders of Color Fellowship provides participants access to field specialists, strategic learning objectives that deepen thought on anti-racist and culturally-oriented leadership practices, and national-level network and cohort building. The NALAC Advocacy Leadership Institute is a program for artists, arts administrators, and cultural workers seeking to gain valuable tools for shaping cultural policies. Pablo completed the Inspire Leadership School Public Narrative program in 2023.

Dani Faulkner Selected for Morgridge Family Foundation Fellowship
Dani Faulkner accepted a fellowship role with the Morgridge Family Foundation, serving the DC-based nonprofit Public Knowledge. The Morgridge Acceleration Program (MAP) Fellowship is a six-month program for early-to-mid-career changemakers passionate about social impact and looking to enhance their professional skills, widen their network, and collaborate with influential nonprofit executives. At Public Knowledge, Dani will develop an engagement strategy that expands their donor base and enables them to prioritize and cultivate long-term philanthropic partnerships. Chrissey Nguyen Klockner Presents at AFP LEAD Conference
Chrissey Nguyen Klockner, Chief of Staff at Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School, presented at the 2023 Association of Fundraising Professionals LEAD Conference in Philadelphia. AFP LEAD typically gathers 400-500 attendees for education and networking, with the goal of preparing current and future fundraising leaders to take the next step in their careers. Her presentation “Becoming Catalysts for Change: Increasing IDEA skills for Fundraisers” helped attendees strengthen their change management skills with a focus on inclusion, diversity, equity, and access. Chrissey completed the Georgetown CPNL Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate program earlier this year and is participating in Spur Local’s BIPOC Emerging Leaders cohort this fall.

Dani Faulkner Accepts New Role and is Featured at National and Statewide Conferences
Dani Faulker accepted a new role as the Director of Development for Parity, an equitable development organization in West Baltimore creating affordable home ownership opportunities. Dani recently spoke about Community-Centric Fundraising at the Maryland Nonprofits Annual Conference and will lead a discussion on Equitable Development Practices at the Bloomberg CityLab conference in mid-October. Isabel Argoti Co-Leads Montgomery County Women’s Legislative Briefing
As a Commissioner of the Montgomery County Commission for Women, Isabel Argoti co-chaired the 2024 Women’s Legislative Briefing. The premier and longest-standing women’s legislative event in Maryland, this year’s Briefing brought together over 400 advocates, policymakers, and emerging leaders to empower, engage, and mobilize Marylanders around issues affecting women and girls throughout the state. Isabel is the Deputy Director of Programs at Community Bridges. She completed Georgetown CPNL’s Nonprofit Management Executive Certificate program in 2021 and is currently participating in the 2023-24 Leadership Montgomery Emerging Leaders cohort.

Siu Cheung Rossmark, Interim Executive Director of Asian American LEAD, has been appointed by the Governor of Maryland to the statewide Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs. She has been with Asian American LEAD since 2012, serving in multiple roles as a Board Member, Board Chair, and now Interim Executive Director. Siu completed the Public Narrative program in 2023. Bryan Jackson Featured Keynote Speaker for Nonprofit Leadership Conference
Bryan Jackson was this year’s featured keynote speaker for the Nonprofit Leadership Conference in Atlanta. His presentation “Turbulence in the Talent Pool” provided strategies and solutions for nonprofit leaders to cultivate a diverse, multi-generational work environment. Bryan is a Senior Consultant for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Justice at Nonprofit HR. He formerly oversaw diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts for Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR) of Arlington and Falls Church, and the American Montessori Society. Joseph Hooks featured as panelist at Regional Workforce Mentoring Summit
Joseph Hooks, Founder & CEO of the 480 Club, spoke at the Workforce Mentoring Summit hosted by MENTOR Maryland-DC and the Universities at Shady Grove. The Summit brought together universities, public schools, private sector employers, and nonprofit youth programs to explore the intersection of mentorship and workforce development. Joseph leveraged his expertise as a nonprofit founder and shared comments on "What is Working in Montgomery County's Workforce Development Landscape."
